"It's hard to believe Harriman State Park and adjacent Sterling Forest is so close to Manhattan with 70,000 acres of forever wild parkland. There are mountain to climb and lakes to kayak" - Michael Bruno

"Valley Rock Inn is like an oasis in the middle of a food desert, all the produce in their market looks as fresh as if I picked it myself that morning. It is not to be missed on your way Upstate." - Benoist Drut
“When I’m preparing for a small dinner party I always stop in to Valley Rock Market for fresh flowers, prepared dishes and last minute treats for my guests.

"I recommend the Brook Trail if you want a beautiful and very doable zen trail along the brook until you get to hidden Pine Lake. It's an out and back and takes about 2.5 to 3:00 hours.
For a more adventurous hike, I take the 7 Hills trail. I often do the first four hills, then come back along the brook, 2.5 to 3 hours. I usually do it in under two hours. There is about a 1,400 ft elevation gain. If you would like to extend the hike go to the fifth hill across the brook and loop back. The fifth hill will also add another 60-90 minutes and make the total elevation gain about 1,800 ft.
We recommend that you download All Trails App before heading out." - Michael Bruno
