"Le Belle Juliette Hermant has exquisite taste and a talent for sourcing out-of-the-ordinary objects whether it’s taxidermy, mismatched plates and glasses, door handles, a chair – they have it all. In winter she creates the most beautiful Christmas wreaths."
"Vincent has the most sophisticated eye and a passion for large architectural artifacts that, for the most part, are historically and regionally appropriate. These objects are also quite extraordinary."
"Mark Naylon has expanded his NYC operations and opened in the former High Falls Mercantile and offers mid-century furniture featuring original pieces, restored furnishings and M/n, Mark’s own line of period inspired creations with a timeless visage. And there is nothing kitschy about Mark’s mid-century offerings. His mid-century is chic and modern! His wife Molly, a fashion executive, also throws in some chic antique textile inspired tunics that are just perfect for a weekend in the country."
"In Cold Springs there is truly one of the chicest collections combined with exceptional architecture created just for the collection. This is a private warehouse art space created by Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu for their personal collection of Italian Post-war and Contemporary art."
"This is a fantastic little shop in town center with a wonderful collection of children's clothing and gifts, apothecary items, an excellent edit of boho chic clothing for adults and other odds and ends that Jill TerMolen-Cornillon personally collects."
"There are few country antique shops left outside of Hudson, but a particularly fabulous one is Hillsdale Barn Antiques, with its wonderful selection of antique furniture and accessories from the region and folk art. I often wish my house were bigger so that I could keep shopping."
"Not to be missed is the recently constructed round barn at the Churchtown Dairy funded by Abby Rockefeller. There’s a small farm store that sells meats and yummy cheeses made onsite, as well as and raw milk. That’s it. There’s a medicinal garden and handsome critters. One is free to roam about and I would definitely recommend doing so."
"Although like many locals, I like the Hudson Farmers Market, my first stop on Saturday morning is Holmquest Farms, which is family owned and has a great selection of produce in season (at half the price of the farmers market) and a huge greenhouse for plants in the spring and early summer. They specialize in geraniums and hanging baskets."
