"Not to be missed is the recently constructed round barn at the Churchtown Dairy funded by Abby Rockefeller. There’s a small farm store that sells meats and yummy cheeses made onsite, as well as and raw milk. That’s it. There’s a medicinal garden and handsome critters. One is free to roam about and I would definitely recommend doing so."
"Although like many locals, I like the Hudson Farmers Market, my first stop on Saturday morning is Holmquest Farms, which is family owned and has a great selection of produce in season (at half the price of the farmers market) and a huge greenhouse for plants in the spring and early summer. They specialize in geraniums and hanging baskets."
"To call this Schoonmaker Family spot our local farm stand would be to sell them way short. Our daily morning ritual isn’t complete without stopping there to get our morning coffee and the best just out of the machine homemade donuts you can find in the area. And besides the usual organic farmed seasonal produce from their lands, they also have delicious grab and go prepared foods, grass fed beef, Kate’s cookies, Talenti ice-cream and so much more. They only problem is that as farmers, they close the doors from Christmas through March and it makes the winter harder on us than a blizzard!"
"If you’re ever in Hudson you MUST go to this incredible little cheese and provisions shop. Not only do they have one of the best selections of curated artisanal cheeses I’ve ever seen, their sandwiches are absolutely delicious. They have amazing baked goods and salads, and their prepared foods are excellent, too. Everything is so thoughtfully done; you can tell a lot of love goes into it."
"If you’re visiting, you must take home a fresh pie from Migliorelli’s on Route 28! To die for! They are made fresh every morning and sell it fast! My favorite is the ricotta pie which is a rare treat as they are not always on the menu!"
“This is one of my favorite places to visit, not just for the delicious food, but also because of the incredible atmosphere they've created. It's a beautiful setting where you can pick apples in the fall, buy locally made products from their farm store or just sit and visit with friends while listening to live music."
“Head over to Ravenwood's barn for coffee, fresh pastries and to pick up some fresh produce for the weekend. Dana and Chris have created a charming farm stand that also serves as a lovely spot to host one of their epic barn dinners.”
