John Stern is President of Storm King Art Center, a 500-acre outdoor museum located in the Hudson Valley where visitors experience large-scale sculpture under open sky. John splits his time between his home in Mountainville, New York and New York City, where his wife, Sarah E. Lawrence, is the Dean of the School of Art & Design History and Theory at Parsons School of Design. In 2010, John left a successful career in law to run Storm King, where he had served as a trustee and Vice-Chair. During his tenure, Storm King has quadrupled attendance, expanded programming and amenities for a more diverse audience, while supporting more artists and open space and wildlife habitats.
