For me it is one of the hidden treasures for anyone that likes architecture. It is built in the Amsterdamse School style as a total living concept in the early 20th Century. It lays in an area that is a bit cut off from the main stream on the North western edge of the centre. Just go for a stroll in the Westerpark. Go under the tracks through a small pedestrian tunnel, turn left. After about 400 m this beautiful and stunning building will be right in front of you. Nowadays there is even a museum of this building.
Museum Het Schip is located in the most expressionistic residential block by architect Michel de Klerk in the Spaarndammerbuurt in Amsterdam West. The complex is the pinnacle of the Amsterdam School architecture and art movement.
