This trattoria is a New York classic. With no reservations, get there early and if you have to wait, at least the clientele is something to look at with regular celeb sightings. The service is fast and the decor isn't notable, but the food and the vibe are perfectly New York. The rigatoni pitti is divine.
Bar Pitti is my home-away-from-home restaurant. My body is made of a scary percentage of pappardelle alla fiesolana. But I try to offset that—and the wine—with their garlicky sautéed spinach (the best of a lifetime!) and the Pitti salad (order it even if it isn’t on the menu!)… Think arugula with artichoke hearts and leeks under a sheet of Parmesan.
