Being in Saugerties and the Hudson Valley, where food and wine are important, where we could be a part of a wonderful community, source locally, and easily welcome guests from major hubs and small towns alike, it soon became clear that this was the perfect spot to bring our simple motto and dream to life
Clove and Creek
"A charming shop with unique gifts and necessities you had no idea you needed, but have to have!"
Main Street Market
"One of my favorite markets in the Catskills, always stocked with local meets, produce, beer and wine. Also a great spot for a deliscious sandwich to-go."
Red Chair on Warren
"It's easy to make your kitchen chic with a visit to Red Chair, they have so many vintage and antique pieces for serving and meal prep. "
“Francesco Buitoni in Red Hook NY creates some of the most authentic and delicious Italian food for many many miles. A member of the Buitoni pasta family in Rome the man knows his pasta.”
“Located in an old stone house in The Stockade district of Uptown Kingston our friends John Krenek & Jamie Niblock have “opened this really fun and modern take on a classic tavern. Great place to stop by and grab a drink and some nibbles before or after dinner or even after you’ve done all your weekend shopping at the Kingston Farmers Market!”
Hotel Tivoli & The Corner
“If we are lucky we’ll snag a table at The Corner Hotel in Tivoli for brunch. The owners (Brice Marden and his family) have done a fantastic job redecorating the hotel, which is also home to his outstanding personal art collection. It is set in a charming century-old building and the farm-to-table menu somehow seems to appeal to all members of the family—a rare yet important factor, for sure. More than likely I will see a familiar face in there, too!”
“Many people combine a trip to Storm King with a trip to Dia. While you could spend a day (or more) exploring each, experiencing both allows you to see works by some of the same artists in two very different settings.”
Regan & Smith Antiques
“They love vintage and antique display pieces as much as I do, so many cool ones all the time. I have found furniture and art that I love for my home and Valley Rock Inn.”
“They have absolutely delicious food made with local ingredients and a beautifully designed space. Make sure you get the Macaroni and Cheese to start...it's beyond beyond!"
Manitoga Russel Wright Design Center
"In Garrison (a short drive to the Magazzino Italian Art Warhouse) is a wonderous home and collection created by the industrial designer Russel Wright. In the early 20th Century Russel Wright purchased a defunct quarry. He spend the next decade turning the land into a wondrous garden and the quarry into the pool. Built onto and into the rock is his home where he lived with his wife and daughter."
Market St. Restaurant
"I love lunch in Rhinebeck at Market. They have delicious pizzas and it’s conveniently located right across the street from the Antique Emporium."
Anne Maxwell Foster + Suysel Depedro Cunningham
Brushland Eating House
"I don't think twice about driving an hour to the charming town of Bovina where Sarah and Sohail of Brushland have somehow managed to nail the small-town, mom-and-pop restaurant atmosphere that feels and tastes every bit authentic. "
"Francesco Buitoni in Red Hook NY creates some of the most authentic and delicious Italian food for many many miles. A member of the Buitoni pasta family in Rome the man knows his pasta."
Casana Tea House
"Casana serves breakfast and lunch. My favorite is their French toast. And they serve breakfast all day!"
Foxfire Mountain House
"This old schoolhouse, turned Inn is one of my a favorite places to stop for a cocktail on my way though the Catskills."
"Every Friday we have dinner at Ca’ Mea in Hudson. We love the owner, Max, and staff who are professional and friendly. They serve a tasty assortment of daily specials in addition to the seasonal menu. There’s a beautiful garden for outdoor dining, but preferring AC, we always sit at the same table by the entry."
Talbott & Arding
“So many special original products come out of their market. I never go to Hudson without stopping there to stock up.”
The Heron Restaurant
"Paul Nanni, the chef, had previously worked in NYC and came to Sullivan County to settle down with his wife. The food is the best Narrowsburg has to offer. With some classics on the menu, such as fried chicken and grits."
"Chef Serge Madikians serves both creative and traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine influenced by his native Tehran and complemented by his weekly flight (which he pilots) to Cape Cod to source seafood."
Mieke Ten Have
Four Brothers Pizza
"While on the topic of movies, I would be remiss not to mention my favorite spot of all! Four Brothers Pizza has many locations in the area, but only the one in Amenia has a double-feature drive-in movie theater. What could be better on a summer evening than grabbing some friends in a truck and eating pizza, drinking beer, and watching a movie outdoors? Yeah, I don’t think so, either…"
